Rachel Littlewood
Rachel Littlewood is the Managing Director of Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood and has responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the business.
Rachel Littlewood joined Phillips International Auctioneers in 1993, having completed a BA (Hons) degree in Art History. Her role within Phillips was as Trusts and Estates Manager, overseeing all of the probate estate work and providing a point of contact for fiduciary clients. She also catalogued the antiquarian books auctions during this time and was involved in the organisation of the Quarterly Fine Sales held at Powderham Castle (near Exeter in Devon) for several years.
Following the closure in October 2000 of the Exeter salerooms of Phillips Auctioneers, due to their restructuring plans, Rachel Littlewood and Christopher Hampton established Hampton & Littlewood Auctioneers in 2001.
Trading as Hampton & Littlewood, Rachel Littlewood catalogued and built up the antiquarian book auctions, of which there were two a year, whilst overseeing the fortnightly auctions, Maritime, Sporting and Quarterly Fine Sales, together with the company advertising and marketing.
Since Bearne's and Hampton & Littlewood merged, Rachel Littlewood has overseen the day-to-day running of the auction rooms in Okehampton Street in Exeter whilst also overseeing human resources, marketing and advertising, as well as the production of all fine art and specialist sale catalogues.
Her personal interests include walks around Devon with her little dog Basil, fitness training, running and renovating her cottage.
